Family is everything to me. I am deeply grateful for the sacrifices my family has made, not only for me but for others as well. Every day, I am thankful for the path they have paved, allowing me to serve our community with dedication and purpose.

My father immigrated from Mexico. My mother moved around too often as a child, at times homeless. Both grew up poor and worked hard to break the cycle of poverty, not for themselves, but for their children.

Guided by the same dedicated work ethic and commitment I have become a committed family man, a professor of biotechnology, and an elected community leader in the city I love. I hope to leave the world a better place for the next generation.

Over the past four years as your city councilmember, I have worked tirelessly to build a vibrant local economy, foster the creation of good-paying jobs, expand housing options for everyone, and uphold a high standard of living in a safe, thriving community. My leadership has been instrumental in strengthening relationships across our community, ensuring that we serve all residents of Vacaville—especially those from historically marginalized communities.
